What Huel is like as a Meal Replacement

Huel black Edition

For the last 30 days, I’ve been testing Huel’s black edition products. ck to 30 day trials, where I try anything and everything for 30 days and fFor the last 30 days, I’ve been testing Huel’s black edition products.

Huel is short for Human Fuel and the aim of the company is to provide an environmentally sustainable and highly nutritious meal replacement. For the last 30 days I trialed Huel’s coffee caramel and vanilla products which promise the same 27 essential vitamins and minerals as the standard Huel, but with lower cabs and a higher protein content.

Each serving on Huel black edition contains 400 calories per serving, 27 vitamins and minerals, 40g of protein, 17g of carbs, is Gluten free, zero artificial sweeteners and contains Green tea extract. It's 100% plant based which makes it acceptable for anyone on any dietary endeavour. It is also gluten free unlike the standard Huel which uses oats for the carbs, whereas the black edition uses tapioca instead.

I did notice that there are minor differences in the nutritional content based on which flavour you buy, but the differences are so small that either one will give you a well balanced meal.

When you order it for the fist time you have to buy 2 packs which is a months supply. You also get a free shaker and two scoops in the box as well as a nifty Huel T-shirt.

Both the vanilla and caramel coffee are adequately flavoured. Huel does sell additional flavour boosters on their website if you desire a stronger tasting supplement, but you could just as easily blend your shake with fresh fruit for added flavour and nutrition.

The supplement mixes well in the free shaker and the thickness can of course be controlled by adding more or less water to the mix.

As I said, each serving provides you with 400kcal worth of nutrition and I was a bit concerned about this since I know that such low calories in normal food is not that filling, but I must say that Huel does deliver when it comes to satiation. You do feel fed, not so much that you are bursting, but your body does feel like it has had an adequate meal.

Another huge bonus is that it does not bloat you and give you gas unlike other dairy based supplements I have tried. No smelly emissions coming out of this supplement, I can testify to that.

If you are looking to get in shape or simply to maintain a healthy lifestyle, diet is one of the biggest proponents towards that, and Huel provides you with a well balanced meal. If you are looking to control your calories, save money on food, or simply add an additional healthy meal to your diet, then I can definitely recommend Huel. It's quick, easy and quite tasty.
